Blue Man Group and Grant a Gift: Celebrating 9 Years of Sensory-Friendly Shows

Last Sunday, June 23, 2024, the Blue Man Group hosted the 9th annual Sensory-Friendly Performance, supporting the Grant a Gift Autism Foundation - Ackerman Center! Held at the Luxor Hotel and Casino, the event enchanted attendees with its unique mix of music, comedy, and visual effects, while significantly impacting the community. With over 610 community members, families, and supporters attending, the show successfully raised $25,000 for Grant a Gift.

The performance by Blue Man Group was a captivating and unforgettable experience, pushing the limits of traditional entertainment. The Blue Men, known for their blue-painted faces and mysterious personas, combined music, comedy, and technology to deliver a sensory-rich experience for the audience.

With many children and young adults on the autism spectrum present, the Blue Men made thoughtful adjustments to the performance. These included reduced sound and light levels and limited audience interaction. Earplugs and sunglasses were provided, and quiet zones were available in the lobby for those needing a sensory break from the high-energy show.

We extend our gratitude to the Blue Man Group for partnering with us, for the 9th year, and providing an incredible journey of wonder, laughter, and pure entertainment. The event celebrated human connection, encouraging everyone to embrace their uniqueness and enjoy the joyous celebration of art, music, and shared experiences.

A special thanks to Luxor Las Vegas for providing water and popcorn to our guests. We also thank Gaudin Motor Company, Nevada Community Foundation, Hightower Las Vegas, FSI/Flooring Solutions, The Martin Family, The Gabe Family, and The Ackerman Family for sponsoring 250 Grant A Gift Autism Foundation - Ackerman Center clients and their families to enjoy the show.

The funds raised from this event will support our mission to offer comprehensive clinical services, resources, education, research, and advocacy for better outcomes for individuals, families, and the community affected by autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities.

All funds raised will remain in Nevada, directly benefiting our clients, their families, and the community. Thank you to everyone who came out and supported this event!
