Grant a Gift Addresses Increased Autism Prevalence Rates in 2023 Center for Disease Control (CDC) Report

Two new reports detailing prevalence rates, characteristics, and screening and diagnostic information for autism spectrum disorder have been released today by the Autism and Developmental Disabilities Monitoring (ADDM) network of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Important to note, the CDC reports an increase in the prevalence rate with one in 36 children receiving an Autism diagnosis.

The urgent requirement for comprehensive clinical services, resources, education, research, and advocacy in the Southern Nevada Autism community is further highlighted by the escalating prevalence estimates. The latest report reveals an increase in the number of children diagnosed with Autism from 1 in 44 to 1 in 36. This increase can be attributed to various factors, including an improvement in diagnostic screening and identification.

Grant a Gift is committed to providing better outcomes for individuals, families, and our community living with autism and other neurodevelopmental disabilities by creating greater access for ALL families to receive affordable access to best-in-class care – regardless of what insurance they have.
